2nd Hour Reflection Blog 7/Participation 11/06/09

Happy Friday everyone! With the end of another week, it is once more time to reflect on what you have learned this past week. PLEASE MAKE SURE TO READ THIS THROUGH TO THE END! 1st--What was your participation like today, on a scale of 1-12? Remember to explain why, and be specific! 2nd--Since we couldn't do a reflection last week because of the snow days, I want you to think about this week and last. Please answer the following questions: What have you learned? What skills have you been working on? What is working for you in this project? What is not working for you in this project? What questions have you had about the information we've been working with? Please remember to EXPLAIN your answers to all of these questions, and put some thought into them! Yes I know that means you have to think on a Friday, but I promise you, you will live! One final thing--make sure you proof read your comment for proper spelling, grammar, capitalization, and puctuation! Oh, yeah--and have a great weekend!

Today I think am a 12 because we did our work and I was very concentrated and focused. Last week when we had the snow days I think I worked pretty well. I learned that the Alamo was part of it too. I also learned about the way they dressed in those time periods. I have been working on the finding main ideas skill and also on choosing what is important and what is not. In this project what is working for me is that we are not just doing this alone.I don't really think there is something that is not working for me. Right now I don't really have questions about anything. That is about it so have a nice weekend Miss Jordet.

I would say I sould get at least a 11 because i have been working during the class period. I have learned about the Louisiana Purchase in 1801. How Louisiana region once encompassed an area much larger then the present state. I've also been working on all my skill on researching and finding out information. Something that is helping me on the project is that I learn more of what happen during the early events. Something that isn't working for me is that some of the information I don't understand and some of them don't make sense. Some of my questions are why do we have to research for a week for the same years? I think that would be enough information for just one week. But I think that we are going to do good in this video. Have a good weekend.

Over the last two weeks, I have been working really hard on the scrpit, and over the last two days, I have highlighted notes that we found useful to the story. I learned the first eleven presidents' names, which I doubt is useful to anything in real life. Except maybe the first. I also learned how Big George develops character. I have been working on my writing through typing the script and my skimming skills through going through the notes printed from 10/26. The entire group of writers working together is really helping the whole writing process. I can't think of anything not working with the project. It's really working well.

My participation today wasn't great but it was also due to my internet going in and out of service. I would give myself a 9. The following two weeks have not been especially great and productive. I am always doing the same stuff and Im getting real tired of it. The one thing I did learn is that toward the end of the 1850s,women stopped dressing traditionally, and started to dress more in a way that would hopefully catch men's eyes. The skills I have been working on is to work with a group and I found that taking a lesser role in a group is a good thing. Searching the same thing every day in this group is not working and like I said earlier, it is driving me crazy. What I would like to know about this period is about if they had a lot of sports and if they did what were they. I am getting tired of this time period and I hope we can move on soon.

Today I would award myself with a twelve. I reorgainized the notes and even color coded them. I also took out more things that I didn't think were necessary. So far I've learned a little more about our presidents. The thing I enjoyed learning most about was the Trail Of Tears, it was sad but interesting. I've been learning to work with other people that I generaly wouldn't work with. Also, I would have to say that my research skills have improved. Having some people research and some write the script is a good idea. I think that because when we were all working on the script, it seemed unorgainized. The thing that isn't working for me is all the research days. It's a little overwhelming. The same routine of researching is a bit boring in my opinion, but at the same time i would rather do this than the script.

first we worked hard this week and it was the only week that we come up an a good idea because the first three days eery body was warking on his own and i try to get a new information about the 1800-1850 and there was still some new things that i did not seen before, like the compromise 1850 and the laousiana territory, but the good thing was when we worked as a group yesterday we cut all the informations that was not important, and did great job
2:together last week and this one i learned alot that i woulden't knoe before like the invention of the newspappers, the laousiana territory and the compromise, that is much i learned.
i have been working on to get new things like some other ideas about 1800's and i found alot like lewis and clark expedition explores and maps western continental USA.
what is working for me in this project is learning a new things everyday searching the past things starting from 1700 and so on,
to be honest i want us to be keep going era to era so we should knoe every thing that happen.
my only question is arent we doing step by step by this project? like 1700,1800,1900 so we can know every about the past,
thanks.

Happy Friday Ms. Jordet! [: my participation was good today, I edited more of the papers we printed of yesterday. So I give myself a nine or so. I’ve learned that there is a lot of copy and past going on and we have to edit a million pages. I’ve been working on my spelling and punctuation, also on my research skills. I think that everything about the movie and the script is working I like doing this project. What isn’t working g for me is all of the copy and pasting work that is going on because then we have to go through and erase and read all the non important things. I get most of the research that we’re doing

I would totally give myself a 12 because I worked my butt off today and got what I had to get done! This week and last week I haven't really learned much because we've been writing the script. One thing I learned was what happened at the Battle of the Alamo and who was involved. The skills that I have been working on are usuing correct puncutation and grammar usage for the blogs and teamwork. Working as a team has been working for me because if I do the script by myself I won't ever get it done. So I need everyone to participate and throw ideas at us so we can get things done faster. One thing that is not working for me is that sometimes people aren't doing their work while others are busting their butts off for the people not doing their work and to me it isn't really fair. Everyone should have an equl amount of things to do whether it's looking up information or writing the script or anything else involved. I have no questions right now, but maybe later on I will.
